Association of Division III Independents
Names 2005 All-Independent Men's Basebell Teams

KANSAS CITY, MO.--- Jason Mooneyham and Buddy Klovstad headline a parade of Chapman University baseball student-athletes on the first All-Independent Baseball teams named today by the Association of Division III Independents.

The players were selected by baseball coaches at member institutions of the Association of Division III Independents.

Mooneyham, who recently was drafted and signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers, was named the player of the year after he hit .417 with three home runs and 45 runs batted in. Klovstad was named pitcher of the year after he went 10-0 with a 1.91 earned-run average.

Chapman, which advanced to the Division III Baseball Championship finals for the fifth time in the past eight years, placed a total of six players on the first team. In addition, head coach Tom Tereshchuk was named coach of the year.

New Jersey City University’s Ruben Borges, a freshman second baseman who hit .357 with four home runs and 41 RBI, and was among the nation’s leaders in doubles per game, was named the association’s rookie of the year.
