Association
of Division III Independents
KANSAS CITY, MO.--- Maddie Brink of the University of Dallas and Heather Hartman of Cal State Hayward headline the first All-Independent Women’s Soccer teams named today by the Association of Division III Independents. Brink, a junior forward from Hillsboro, Oregon, who scored eight goals and three assists, was named the offensive player of the year. Hartman, a senior goalkeeper from Pleasanton, California, recorded five shutouts and was named the defensive player of the year. Freshman forward Emily Hagedorn from Thomas More College was named the rookie of the year, while head coach Michael Bolanz from St. Joseph’s College (Maine) was named the coach of the year. First Team Forward

Association of Division III Independents consists of 17 Division III
independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes
at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship
competition in seven sports in 2004-05. The Association recognizes outstanding
athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and
annual basis. For the first time, the Association provides statistical
services for its members in seven sports. In addition, it will announce
all-Independent teams at the conclusion of 10 other sports this year.
